Pinceladas de Cambio ("Brushstrokes of Change")

I launched “Pinceladas de Cambio” (“Brushstrokes of Change”), a nation-wide contest consisting of painting storm drain murals with marine images to raise awareness on ocean contamination sources, with support from the Rotary Club and two municipalities: Escazú and Curridabat. The idea behind this art contest is to create awareness on the idea that the ocean truly starts at the sewers/storm drains, and therefore it is crucial to keep our cities clean. My initiative was featured in the national newspaper “La Republica” (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ItAfCAmNYAWCfgid9Bbl68F4mDErj1WY/view) and online article (https://www.larepublica.net/noticia/un-cambio-que-urge).

This is the first storm drain I painted, which reads “Todo llega al mar. ¡Deja de contaminar!” (“Everything ends up in the ocean. Stop polluting!”).
